Franklin Schargel is an internationally recognized speaker, author, and educational consultant. He has presented over 200 workshops for educational, community, and business groups throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, and Latin America. His workshops are designed for administrators, teachers, students, parents, business leaders, policymakers, and all those interested in safe schools, raising graduation rates, lowering dropout rates and narrowing the educational achievement gap.
Mr. Schargel’s career spans thirty-three years of high school classroom teaching, school counseling and eight years of school supervision and administration. Franklin’s success in dramatically enhancing the learning process in his inner-city school, expanding parental involvement, increasing postsecondary school attendance, and significantly lowering the students’ dropout rate has been well documented in 25 books, 55 newspaper and magazine articles and 5 internationally released videos (including a PBS special). The United States Department of Education, Fortune Magazine, Business Week, National Public Radio, Public Broadcasting System and the New York Times have recognized his work.
He is the author of 13 best-selling books. His books deal with at-risk learners, dropout prevention, educational leadership, school culture and high performing classrooms. His international publisher, Routledge is a division of the Taylor and Francis Group. In addition, the National Dropout Prevention Center at Clemson University presented him with its Crystal Star Award and the International Association for Truancy and Dropout Prevention honored Mr. Schargel with its “Program of the Year Award”. Mr. Schargel was among the nine, globally nominated individuals for the Brock International Prize in Education for his work in dropout prevention and positively impacting alternative education.

Preventing Anxiety, Stress & Trauma
Schools need to be prepared to address the physical well-being of students but also prepare to deal with their mental well-being as well. The Covid virus has disrupted world economies, business operations and school calendars. It has also caused anxiety, stress and trauma in children, parents, and educators. Most adults have the mechanisms to handle anxiety, stress, and trauma. Children don’t.By completing this workshop, participants will learn how to identify signs of Anxiety Stress and Trauma in children, understand the causes of anxiety, stress, and trauma in children, educators, and parents. And find ways to help a child suffering from AST.
