Trent Lovett is Marshall County native and graduate of Murray State University with a BS degree in Mathematics and Physics. Lovett began a 30+ year career in education as a Math and Science teacher and taught for 7 years before becoming an Administrator. Trent spent 8 years as Assistant Principal and Principal at North Marshall Middle School, 4 years as Principal at Marshall County High School and is currently in his 11th year serving as Superintendent of the Marshall County School District.

On January 23, 2018 a tragic school shooting occurred at Marshall County High School in Benton, Kentucky. Listen as Superintendent Trent Lovett describes the events of the tragic day and the steps taken in the aftermath. You will receive a first person look from not only the Superintendent, but the father of a student who was inside the school.Learning Objectives
